Drum-filter conveyors are integrated hybrid systems developed especially to efficiently discharge fine dust, particles, and granular waste generated during machining operations and to purify coolant/cutting fluids with high accuracy. They combine the mechanical scraping principle with advanced drum-filtration technology to maximize process efficiency.
The coolant-and-chip mixture discharged from the CNC machine first reaches the dirty-fluid reservoir of the drum filter. Fine particles and chip dust settling at the bottom of the reservoir are directed to the chip hopper by a bottom-scraping mechanism and mechanically separated from the fluid.
After the settling stage, the remaining fluid is forced through a stainless-steel filter element on the drum system with a filtration rating of at least 50 microns.
The clean fluid that has passed through filtration moves through the internal volume of the drum into the clean-fluid tank and is then returned to the CNC machine's cooling circuit.
To prevent particle buildup that may form over time in the metal-filter pores during filtration, the system is equipped with an internal backwash mechanism. This automatic cleaning cycle, carried out periodically with pressurized fluid, ensures that the filter element operates continuously and without interruption.
